Coverage and Benefits
Indoor inpatient treatment is provided on a cashless basis up to ₹1,50,000 per admission. If the treatment expense exceeds ₹1,50,000, the excess amount is claimable through government reimbursement.
OPD consultation, diagnostic tests, and medicines are reimbursable if they are linked to a hospital admission. This includes expenses incurred up to 30 days before hospital admission and up to 30 days after discharge. Follow-up treatments are also eligible for reimbursement under the scheme.
Service Availability
In case of a planned admission, patients are required to visit the WBHS Helpdesk at the hospital with their WBHS card and relevant medical documents. The hospital then sends a request to the Government Authorized Agency (GAA) for pre-authorization. Once approval is granted, the patient can be admitted and treated under the cashless facility.
In case of an emergency admission, patients can be admitted immediately. However, the WBHS card must be submitted to the WBHS Helpdesk within 24 hours in order to convert the admission into a cashless facility.
Required Documents
For non-medical documentation, the patient must carry a valid WBHS card and a government-issued photo identity proof such as Aadhaar card, Voter ID, or Driving License.
For medical documentation, the patient should carry the doctor’s prescription and any relevant past medical records or investigation reports.

Cashless service means that patient will not have to spend any amount for taking the treatment and hospitalization. You do not have to worry about finances in case of a hospitalization, thus giving you peace of mind.
Deposit the West Bengal Health Scheme Card within 24 hours from admission, else the cost will have to be borne by the Beneficiary.
Cashless indoor treatment facilities upto Rs 1,50,000/-per indoor treatment is available provided treatment done in Private Empanelled Hospitals. Reimbursement of indoor treatment cost beyond Rs 1,50,000/-is also available subject to submission of claim to DDO/PSA.
This scheme is directed towards state government employees, government employees who avail pension, and their families. Those who have opted for this scheme as per Medical Allowance are also eligible for it. This cover can be availed by All India Services officers and pensioners. The cover mentioned for the family includes that for the spouse, parents, children who are dependant on the beneficiary and the siblings who are dependant on the beneficiary.

Yes, a request for authorization for WBHS may be declined if, Inadequate/wrong information is provided and the WBHS department is unable to get access to additional information. The ailment/disease for which hospitalization/surgery is required is not covered by the policy. The person does not have adequate insured amount in the WBHS account left to cover the hospitalization costs. This only means that cashless access is declined, AND IS IN NO WAY TO BE CONSTRUED AS DENIAL OF TREATMENT. The beneficiary must obtain the treatment as per his/her treating doctor’s advice & settle all the Hospital Bills at the time of discharge through Cash & later apply for reimbursement.
Cost of OPD treatment, related to the Indoor treatment, incurred during the period of thirty days prior to admission as well as during the period of thirty days after discharge is available for reimbursement directly from the Government.
The scheme excludes cosmetic surgeries and non-medical treatments. Apart from these, major treatments are covered in a cashless manner in empanelled hospitals.

All bills in original and discharge certificate are to be left with the WBHS Desk at Jeevan Rekha Hospital providing cashless treatment. The patient has to countersign all bills and fill the claim form and also leave the same with the hospital at the time of discharge. A copy of the bills, Discharge Summary & Reports can be carried by you for your records.
