This is the primary role for graduates with this diploma. ECG technicians perform electrocardiographic tests, prepare patients for procedures, and ensure accurate recording of heart activity for diagnostic purposes.
Holter technicians set up and maintain Holter monitors, which record continuous ECG data over 24-48 hours. They analyze the data to detect irregular heart rhythms and other cardiac issues.
With the rise of telehealth, ECG technicians can work remotely to provide ECG monitoring and interpretation services, assisting healthcare providers in diagnosing and managing cardiac conditions from a distance.
Cardiology assistants support cardiologists by performing diagnostic tests, maintaining patient records, and assisting with patient care during cardiac procedures.
Some individuals opt for careers as sales representatives for medical equipment companies, where they promote and sell ECG machines and related products to healthcare facilities.
Graduates can establish their cardiac diagnostic clinics, offering specialized ECG and cardiovascular monitoring services to the community.
Cardiac rehabilitation specialists work with patients recovering from heart surgery or cardiac events, designing and monitoring exercise programs and lifestyle changes to promote heart health and recovery.
For those interested in research, there are opportunities to work as research assistants in cardiac studies and clinical trials, contributing to advancements in cardiovascular diagnostics and treatment.
Graduates can become health educators specializing in cardiac care. They may work in community health programs, schools, or healthcare organizations, educating the public about heart health and disease prevention.
